This guitar doesn't meet the standards of GAS production common to this forum, but I know the folks here enjoy pictures and this one might bring back some memories. This is a 1986 Martin D-2832 Shenandoah.

Admittedly, the Martin is certainly not original, but he's a player. Purchased in the early '90s for 500, neck reset/refret later in the '90s, and a bunch of string changes and checkups ;). The Revival is a wonderful guitar, the differences between the two are evident, but both are a joy to play. It excels in alternate tunings, I am especially fond of 'C' tuning on this one. Great deep bass.

Soundports Revisted Again

Some time ago I posted some pictures of a soundport that I added to one of my guitars. I made the guitar from a Martin HD28 kit some 15 or 17 years ago. I recently made some changes to the soundport, thinned the neck, made a new bone nut and saddle, added bone bridge pins (I know some of you don't remember what bridge pins are but maybe the pictures will help...). I also refinished it.

Following Ratkity's lead of posting pictures of her Grandfather's restored parlor guitar, I thought it might be nice to post some pictures of inherited instruments.

The first is a tenor banjo that I inherited from one of my Grandfathers. Tenor banjos were the craze during the 1910's and 1920's. This one probably came out during that period. My mother had it before me and I did some restoration of it about 20 years ago -- new head, some fret replacements, etc. Now...

Some friends and I get together every once in a while to jam at this open-mic, we aren't a regular band, but just have fun jamming once in a while. Here I am playing my Atlas jumbo 12 flamed maple, the discontinued 2007 Atlas series. The Breedlove looks pretty nice on stage.

Alright, so basically I talked a bit earlier on about how I was building an electric guitar. I'm finally going to post it here.
It's not finished, in fact, it's hardly/not even started. But... :P whatever.

So, it's going to be in the shape of a Gibson Firebird, that beautiful classic design. Here are the specs:

Body wood: Korina/limba
Top wood: 3/4" lacewood
Neck wood: Ziricote (Oh yeah)
Fretboard: Macassar/striped ebony

i'll be hitting the road in august for a year so i decided to step it up and get an ATA flight case and pedalboard instead of the ghetto-fabbed setup i have now.

and while i was getting that... decided to change a couple of my existing pedals and add a few more.

so the (almost) end result (picture was taken 2 weeks ago...) is this monstrosity.

Ok...it's still not finished yet but I've been playing it out anyway. I built an extension cabinet for my Fender Blues Jr. The black Tolex and silver grille cloth is on order as well as an Eminence 12" "Cannabis Rex speaker. Yea I said cannabis. It's made from hemp.
I painted it black for now with black grill and a 10" Jensen P10R out of my toasted Super Reverb.
The set up sounds awsome and when I get the 12" it will get even better. When it's...
