Quartz FF Tailpiece Replacement

First, good morning one and all. Need to solicit a little help. Have the Quartz FF in natural and love the mandolin, with exception of the black aluminum tailpiece. I would really like to put something that looks "better" to me on it. Anyone have any luck or try yet? I was interested in one of the Weber or similar nickle or silver ones. Thanks for the help.

Looks like Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder are playing in Sugar Land, TX, just south of Houston on U.S. Hwy 59, on February 2. I hear tell he can play a mando a bit.......

As some of you know I have posted on many guitar threads, but this is my first Mando posting. I have recently been thinking of buying one to add to the guitar collection ai already have and mixing it up a bit with something new. I live in TN and I travel TN and KY, so bluegrass runs prevelant around these parts. I have a a small fortune in guitars and DO NOT want to start that habbit with mandolins. KF case

I have my Quartz KF of course in a Breedlove HSC. Does anyone know if there are other brands of cases the KF would fit in to? I don't think it would fit a standard F case, but I have not tried one either. I like the Breedlove case I'm just looking at other possible options. Any suggestions?

I'm new on the forum and I'd like to connect with other mando players. I'm a long time fingerstyle guitar picker and got started playing mando about a year ago. Anyone on the forum playing anything other than Breedlove mandos? I have a wonderful BRW 2 point and a very nice Weber Fern A style. I can try sending an image or two if there's interest.

body style vs. price

I have this curiosity going right now about these Breedlove mandos. I'm trying to figure out what dictates the price of each model. I look at the all the A-style models with the different options (binding,nicer tuners,sunburst,etc.) and then I compare them to the other breedlove models that are basic and I've found that most Breedlove mandoes can be obtained for under three grand or right around there.
More options equal more $$, I understand that, now we have this FF Quartz that...

Well folks, here's that natural we've all been looking at , in the Mandolin Store site. It's everything they say it is, just let me add that when I pulled it out of the case for the first time, It felt like I was holding on to a small guitar, not a dainty mandolin. Once this mandolin really gets out into the market place, it will change things in the traditional mandolin world.

I have a Cascade, about 4 years old. I love this mandolin, but yesterday when changing the strings one of the tuners on the A string started turning free. Has anyone else had this problem? Any solution other than changing out the tuners? If not, where can I get tuners that match the ones on it? I want Moe to remain in as original condition as possible. Thanks for your help.

Do any other Breedlove owners play Classical mandolin? I'm curious to know how

(a) players think their Breedlove sounds in Classical repertoire and
(b) if players approach Classical differently (if at all) from other styles (e.g. are we supposed to play the Vivaldi Concerto in C with all downstrokes, as I think was the way it was done in the 18th century?).

Hey everyone.... I'm sure I'm not the first or the last to do this, but here's what I'm working on. I have a brand spanking new Quartz OF , and I want to customize it . Just a little flare to make it stand out in the Quartz OF crowd. I want to upgrade to Schaller gold tuners, a gold tail piece, and a new bridge with gold adjustment wheels. What brand and gauge strings on a Breedlove mandolin?

I was playing a Quartz today at GC and it was set up incredibly well, and played very easily. I searched the Breedlove site but can only find that the strings are "medium." That doesn't help much. I need to lower the action a bit on my Big Muddy, and then I would like to use the same strings as on the Breedlove. What brand and gauge of strings (in mm) are used? Thanks.

I've just acquired my gorgeous, wonderful Breedlove Cascade Mandolin from Hobgoblin Music in London. I toured all the London music shops and played dozens of different instruments (including a vintage Gibson F5), but the Cascade was for me the outstanding mandolin. I just adore its massive sound and tone; and it looks great too.
