Atlas Retro Series

Do any of you know anything about the new retro series....Are they braced like the Revival series,Are they Lam Sides and solid backs?...has anyone played one and if so how do they sound?

Well, I finally got to play the B3 live, plugged directly through the sound board, no external amp. First I need to address the strings. I found the stock strings were just fine "open", but up the fretboard they were a bit... dead.

I swapped Ernie Ball Earthwood Acoustics on it and it made quite a positive difference!

Now, Sunday morning, plugged in and with a bit of an "unplugged" feel to our set I was amazed at the sound. WOW! I actually had quite a...

AC250/SM-12 saddle question

Just wondering if the saddle could be mounted more rigidly. It sounds great but I wouldn't mind a little more volume until I get an amp. Anyway, while changing the strings recently, I pulled off the saddle to take a look. Under the saddle was a copper colored metal cord. Could that be dampening some of the sound? If so, can it be easily improved? I'd mount it in epoxy if I knew I'd never take off the saddle again. My curiousity drives me to tinker with stuff sometimes, but...

Hello.

The Name's Peter, I've grown fond of the Breedlove line.

I've probably played almost every acoustic guitar out there (there being guitar center), and it's time for me to make a very difficult decision.

Some Breedlove Guitars that I have in mind:
-AC250/CR Synergy
-AC25/SF
-AC25 Black Magic

I do recordings and I play small time gigs. I hear that the synergy system is great for recording because of the 8-pin connector...

Wow.... WOW!
When I opened the case I thought I had made a fatal mistake. Concert sized body acoustic bass? What was I thinking!?!

Then I played it. The thing booms, it resonates, it sings! Plug it in and I'm in heaven!

Wow, this is just fantastic. The case is pretty incredible too! Way busy today so here are a few very quick pics... enjoy! (I know I am!)

Alternate Tunings with an AD20SM

I understand that some guitars don't respond well to alternate tunings, and was wondering if the JLD truss system in the AD20SM makes this guitar any more or less sensitive to alternate tunings? I only have one acoustic any more (my AD20SM) and I keep it in standard except when I occasionally use DADGAD. I would like to experiment with others as well.

Atlas for Fingerstyle

I have been playing a nylon string guitar, mostly fingerstyle. Am planning to check out the Atlas series at the local guitar store. Is the 1-11/16 wide neck too narrow for fingerstyle? Any experience you can share is appreciated. By the way, I have seen Richard Gilewitz in concert several times in town here, and went to one of his seminars. He is an awesome player and really great guy. I recommend going to one of his workshops if you have the chance.

n00bie here at the forum with a few questions! I am looking to purchase an acoustic/electric 5 string bass and am starting to explore the Atlas series by Breedlove.

I've played a Taylor and found it to be, well, less than the legend calls for. No sustain and almost "brittle" sounding. I've played a few others and was equally unimpressed.

What can you tell me about the Atlas basses? How is sound, resonance, sustain, electronics, etc?...

Hi All.....was just wondering how long it took for your guitars to "Open Up". The reason I'm asking is that I'm slightly disappointed with the tone of my AC25SR Plus. It doesn't seem as rich as it should be.

I've been comparing it to my $100, 25 year old Yamaha, with a laminated top..........and frankly.......it's no contest. The Yamaha blows the Breedlove away.

I've received my Breedlove AD200/SM as a gift about 9 months ago. It was purchased used, but was in near new condition. It even had a plug in the back to use with an amp (I'm assuming the previous owner installed electronics since the factory ones do not come with this feature).

Anyways, my main concern is that it is very difficult to play and always has been. It is broken in, and I want to try different strings before I attempt to change the action. My...

Full size Passports

What is your opinion of the full-size Passports (D20, OM FS and C25 FS)? Prefer any one over the others? I have an AD200/SM and just can't handle a dread anymore - time to "downsize." I'm also looking at the Art & Lutherie Cedar Folk - it'll be that or a full size Breedlove Passport. Thanks!

AD25/SR Plus - High E string doesn't sound right across the board

My high E string has squealing sound to it across the board, and the 17th fret sounds completely dead, similar the sound you'd get by pulling the string off the fret board.

Any idea's?

EDIT: I noticed I'm getting a tiny bit on the B string as well. But it tends to sound more like slight fret buzz than the high pitched ringing from the high E.

I must say these guys have great customer service, While I do live nearby in Bend Oregon they do not know me from Adam and I had a recent issue with my AC/200. My nit broke and I took it in and said that i had likely bumped it on something ( I really was not sure when it broke to be honest). She asked when I bought it and said that I had it for two years as I had gotten it as an Xmas gift 2 years prior from my wife. She said ok and that it would be covered for the first 5 years.
