Anyway, I'm wondering if there are any other UK-based Breedlove players around? If so, would they be interested in getting in touch and forming some sort of British owners group? What does anyone think?
Cheers,
Marcus

UK Breedlove owners? |

I've just acquired my gorgeous, wonderful Breedlove Cascade Mandolin from Hobgoblin Music in London. I toured all the London music shops and played dozens
of different instruments (including a vintage Gibson F5), but the Cascade was for me the outstanding mandolin. I just adore its massive sound and tone; and it
looks great too.

Davy is a UK bloke but not sure if he has been around of late. Calling Davy! Welcome aboard the ship! Can we see that Cascade? Gotta be a beauty. Why do you
think she sounds so full, what makes her so big to your ears?

Thanks Jeff. I've added a couple of pictures of my Cascade on my profile. Am also gonna have a go at attaching them to this (I'm new to this so bear
with me if it doesn't work!)
Why does it sound so full? I'm guessing it's to do with the wood and the slightly bowl-shaped profile of the body; but as I said before I spent a weekend touring all the music shops in central London playing every mando I could reach and the sound of the Cascade was always ringing in my ears whichever other instrument I played. My only trouble is that I find it is very sensitive to which pick I use: so much so that each different pick -- fat ones, medium or skinny ones -- gives me a distinctive new tone. I'm now struggling to decide which I should go with, or should I use different picks for different occasions?

Now that is gorgeous! Love that mando to pieces. Now where's that back pic, I need some maple syrup.
There's a player here fellers. Oh man I want that mando in a bad way. I took Latin when I was in 6th grade. I forgot a lot of it, but a lot is subconsciously buried deepus withinus. |

I have to agree. That is one Beautiful mando. I had the pleasure of picking one at a music store and it sounded great too! Thanks for posting the
photos.

Lurvley Cascade(does lurvly have an "e" or not?
). And
he's a author, too!
Personally, I believe in different picks for different purposes, when it's not inconvenient to change. Some styles work better with different picks, as do different instruments. |

Thanks for the comment about picks. Now that I have the Cascade, with its resonance and responsiveness, the importance of using different picks for different
tunes/styles of music is really being brought home to me, and now I keep a selection in the case for every eventuality!
