Parlor Posts: 5 October 30, 2009 10:31:38	Tags : None Hi All. My first post. I have an AC25-SR Plus that I've had just over a year. In respects to the JLD bridge, I've read the user manual so I understand about adjusting it. What I am unable to acertain from stock photos is the position of the bridge block. If I'm looking down the neck into the soundhole, the block is actually pointing slightly off center, about 7 o'clock (given that 6 o'clock would mean towards the neck). It's not loose so I'm assuming this is correct and it's supposed to be off center? Just curious. Thanks!

Slope Shoulder Posts: 2744 October 30, 2009 13:12:15 Seventh String moderator	First off Dru, Welcome to BGMF! My first guit was/is a AC25-SR although not a plus. From looking inside one of my Breedloves the block is perpendicular to the top or in lay mans terms is hanging straight down form the bridge/saddle. From your description it sounds like yours is "leaning" towards the left or treble side? Any chance you could snap a picture of it for us to view? Parlor Posts: 5 October 30, 2009 15:45:38	Thanks guys. I don't have a camera but my buddy does. We'll try to take a pic later tonight. Fingerpicker, the block is actually hanging down from the middle of the bridge/saddle, so that sounds correct. It's just that it's pointed slightly toward the treble side, but not leaning. For example, if you look directly at the bolt (where the allen key /hex goes in ) that is pointing at 7 o'clock. So, put the block hanging perpendicular and centered directly below the bridge/saddle. Now, like a sun dial, rotate it from 6 to 7 o'clock. Difficult to explain without pics so I'll try to get some.

How does it sound regardless of what you know about the block? My AC/25-SR is a ringing machine on the treble side of my playing. My wife sang first soprano in her college choir and they were good enough to tour Europe in the summer of `82. Parlor Posts: 5 November 2, 2009 08:58:26	Hey Fingerpicker. Sorry for the late reply - I was hoping to take a pic this week-end but it didn't happen. I'll get one in the next few days though. As far as the tone of the Atlas, significantly better than my solid top, laminated b/s guitars (as expected) but not quite at the level of my solid bodies, close though. I guess that is expected as well. Sometimes I feel it could be a little more crisp. I'm thinking of getting a bone saddle. It may do nothing but it gives me an excuse to try it out. I have tried out both Elixers and D'Addario coated strings. I'm sure Martin SPs would sound better but since I don't play this guitar often I want to stick with coated. I probably should try out non-coated at least once to see if that makes a difference.

Or in other words my mind pictured it much worse. My advice would be to send the pic to Breedlove and see what they say. My first thought was that it is more cosmetic than a hinderance to function but I suppose if the dowel between this part and the tailpiece does not turn freely because of the angle or deflection than it is a issue. When I tested it a couple of weeks ago it didn't so I did 1/4 turn of the nut and it could turn so I don't think it's negatively effecting the dowel. There is a tone issue though. Unfortunately no one sells Breedloves in my area so I can't test drive others. I'll send Breedlove the photo and see what they say. I appreciate the feedback.
