Very nice, very nice. What are you using for an amp or PA?

Well, lets see:
For small solo "coffee house" type gigs I go thru a Fender Acoustisonic Jr. Amp. For larger solo or duo gigs, I go thru a Yamaha 500 Watt PA. For small band gigs, guitars go thru various Small Fender amps, with the Yamaha PA for vocals For larger band gigs, I go thru Larger Fender amps, with the PA for vocals. For very large outdoor festival type gigs, guitars go thru a Fender Ultimate Chorus amp, mic'd into the PA if needed. For Beatle gigs, I use Vox amps. It all depends on the size of the gig, and the material I'll be covering

know how to figure that one out. Any suggestions? I have my National Resophonic Replicon and my 46-47 LG-2 that are not amplified and I haven't decided
whether to put pick ups in them or to use mics with them. I don't want to change the tone of the instruments. I also have my Breedlove which as a Fishman
Natural 1 and my Taylor that has the Fishman barn door and a Rare Earth in it. I also know I will need something for vocals.

It gets little complicated now.................
A good microphone will give you the "truest" sound, but you have to have it perfectly placed, and you can't move around . You also may have to deal with feedback. My live acoustic gigs sound best going thru the PA. I move around and try to get the crowd involed, so I just go with the Electric/Acoustics into the PA. The speakers are "full range", so one can hear crystal "highs" and nice deep "lows". Furthermore, you've got more inputs for more mics (in case someone wants to come up and sing with you, or plug in their guitars). I usually set up an extra mic, so when the "firewater" takes affect, people might get up enough nerve to sing. If you use a PA, you can plug your guitar directly into it............or..............go thru a set of peddles first to fine tune your sound. My setup is as follows: Guitar --> floor tuner --> Compressor --> graphic EQ pedal --> Boss AD3 Acoustic processor --> PA. The only time I ever use just an acoustic amp is for the really small Coffee house gigs, where all I need is 1 guitar and 1 mic, and low volume. Hope this helps.............and Good Luck in you quest.

Here are answers to the questions:
The piano is a Young Chang. The second guitar down is a PRS SE Thinline. The 335 is a 1966. (it was my first REAL guitar)

Love the Epiphone.....Casino right? I've been jonesin' for one of those for a long time. My band plays a lot of southern rock, country rock and
classic rock and if I could convince the "much better half " it would make the band sound that much better.................well I guess that'll
take more convincing than I could possibly do Greg |
