Cedar over Walnut Breedlove CM Classic |
Lead | ||
|
I have overextended myself recently in acquiring several new guitars so my 2001 Breedlove CM Classic is offered here for sale in order to restore balance to my
checking account. There is no need to trumpet the virtues of this model for folks on the Breedlove Forum; if you know Breedlove guitars, you're already
aware of how good this guitar sounds and looks. Mine is in truly mint condition and comes with the original deluxe archtop, hard shell case. No electronics on
board. $3200 plus shipping. Please contact me at laharris@pemtel.net for photos and answers to any questions you might have. Thanks.

Those CMs are sweet guitars. I hope you find a good caring home for it. It seems like a very fair price to me.
Also, welcome to the forum. I hope you visit here often. ragtime man |

Thanks for the welcome, ragtime man. Despite the fact that I haven't posted frequently on this forum, I am a long time member and occasional visitor. My
only reason for making a point of that is that I don't want to look like an opportunist - i.e. someone who joins the forum and lists a guitar for sale at
the same time. I participate in many of the on-line guitar forums - Guild, Larrivee, Martin, Acoustic Guitar Forum, the Woodshed, and the Guitar Kit Builder
Forum - to name a few - and know how it looks when a new subscriber joins and posts an item for sale before earning any kind of credibility. I've owned my
Breedlove CM for nearly two years and joined the forum when I first got interested in Breedlove guitars. I know some of you from your posts over the last
couple of years, but you don't know me. I did make a few posts on this forum before it switched over to the Yuku system, but I had difficulty logging on
initially after the switch and so I never got around to completing my profile until now. I hope to be a more active participant in the future. Thanks again for
the welcome.

Best wishes on this one Norseman, they don't come up often, this is a real opportunity to have a winner aboard. So cool. I am glad you didn't post any
pix. Yikes. Dangerous.

Welcome Norseman. Best of luck with your sale. Cedar/Walnut must be one pretty CM - we'd love to see some photos!

OK norseman40 what is the other guitar hanging next to the CM? It looks like it might be a blues machine. ragtime man |

H-13 | #8 | ||
|
Yeah, Munga Brown got it right: it's a Santa Cruz H-13. I've wanted a small body guitar with a deeper than usual body for a long time. The H-13 is
supposed to be Richard Hoover's version of the Gibson Nick Lucas signature model, which is first cousin to the blues model. I haven't had it more than
two or three weeks, but it is a fabulous sounding guitar, especially when played finger style. As for the digs, my wife will be pleased to hear you like them.
She's the decorator; my role is limited to paying for what she wants. :-)

The H13 is a great design. I've been fortunate enough to play three - a hog, Indian rosewood, and even a Brazilian (with a German spruce top). All were
splendid.

have been able to play quite a few of them. They are a really nice compromise between the sound of a 12 fret and the extra fret length.

Yep, and the deeper body does make a difference. Robust-sounding little guitars.

This is one of the guitars I have lusted over for some time. I would have to sell one of my present guitars if I was going to buy this one. Man I like the
look of that guitar and it is cedar!

Omegaman, thanks for adding those photos to the thread. You're absolutely right about the cedar; it gives this guitar an extraordinary sound. The walnut
was new to me when I got this guitar. I hadn't every played a guitar with walnut back and sides, but I had played a Breedlove King Koa and the cedar/koa
combination knocked me out. When the CM came on eBay, I thought I'm make one bid and see what happened. As it turned out, I ended up breaking my pledge to
myself and made one additional bid. The second bid turned out to be a winner and I ended up owning a guitar I hadn't expected to own. When it arrived, I
was prepared to be disappointed, but it was quite the opposite. I couldn't believe my good fortune. The guitar sings! Two years later I still love to play
it. The action is low and the neck fits my hand perfectly. So why am I trying to sell it? Two reasons: 1. I have a bad shoulder that hurts when I lift my arm
over the lower bout, and 2. GAS for a sunburst guitar. I found the sunburst - several, to tell the truth - and now my guitar fund is in the red. I bought
several sunbursts before I had sold any guitars to pay for the purchases. Now I need to get the balance back to even. If it doesn't sell, I'll
won't be broken-hearted, but I will hear from my wife about the deficit in the guitar account. She is supportive of my guitar buying habits - up to a
point. Larry

ragtime, what did you do to your shoulder? I fell off a roof and tore all three ligaments that hold the collarbone to the clavicle in my right shoulder - a
classic total shoulder separation. This is a common injury among motocross riders. Two different orthopedic surgeons told me to leave it alone because surgery
nearly always leaves the shoulder stiff and limits the range of motion. I've been living with it for two years now. It's ugly looking and it hurts with
certain movements, but I can manage most activities okay. Raking and shoveling are very tough and working above my head is too. Guitars with large lower bouts
wear me out - my Gibson L-7 archtop, for example - 17 inch wide lower bout. I can handle an OM okay, but a 00 is better. I'm lucky to be alive after my
fall so I don't complain - I just work around it. I hope you're doing okay. Larry

This listing has generated some nice compliments, but no inquiries. I'm going to lower the price one time and if that doesn't produce results, I'll
take that as a signal that the Guitar Gods want me to keep this beauty (and I won't be terribly disappointed): $3100 shipped or best offer. Thanks. I can
