Well, I finally got to play the B3 live, plugged directly through the sound board, no external amp. First I need to address the strings. I found the stock
strings were just fine "open", but up the fretboard they were a bit... dead.
I swapped Ernie Ball Earthwood Acoustics on it and it made quite a positive difference!
Now, Sunday morning, plugged in and with a bit of an "unplugged" feel to our set I was amazed at the sound. WOW! I actually had quite a few comments on the quality (all of them good!).
One of the other musicians also commented: "Sheesh, that is the CADILLAC of cases!"
Concert sized acoustic bass? Say it ain't so!
