Out east |

Goin' out East, like Dalian east to visit the wife's family. Courtesy of Wiki's Dalian page, this is where I'll be for a few weeks. I'll worry about such things as humidity, temperature,
business, customers, and prolly most of all, the fun we have here. Now why do I worry about fun. Not sure, just a Woody Allen-like similarity. Although Power
and Wisdom has me beat in a few key areas. Very Woody-ish himself, in an Alan Alda kinda way. Then there is Chuck. Oh the skills that man has. I shan't
not embarrass him here publicly, he blushes easily. I'll be glad to be getting away from all of these Norseman threads about bursts. I had to get an
extra bottle of Mylanta this week as a result. On second thought, I'll be glad to be going. You guys are, well...hey by the way, where are the gals at?
Julie, our mando-gal, another one or two. C'mon, we can't be that stand-offish to the opposite sex. Maybe it's the David Niven in Michael that
keeps em' scared. Too unpredictable, too fast. Making guitar beds? Yikes. All y'all newbies like Sparkie and Norse hang on and help the team out by
posting those sick photos of yours. I'll be on chopsticks only for 14 days, er uh I guess that should be 14,000 days. (38 years). I'll be eating it
and being looked at like I am some kinda animal like always, but that's the rap boys we have there. But Chinese do dig Jews so I guess that's a good thing. One offsets the other. I
don't really care what they think, just don't arrest me for staring. Ohhh...I long for those warm spring nights walking along the beach of
Dalian's Yellow Sea overlooking Pyongyang, North Korea's coast. No computer this time, just touring, drinking, smoking, and carousing. Good luck and
T.C. See ya' on the 20th.

Oh, brutha-man... How I miss the East! I had been stationed in Osan (S. Korea) for a while and absolutely loved it! My dream vacation is Viet Nam,
Cambodia & Thailand. Someday... someday!! Enjoy yourself (if you can), and try not to think about that room full of wood back home. You probably
won't have any power outages (which would fudge up that controlled environment... Ooops! Didn't mean to freak you out!)... No,
really... Enjoy!! Take some more photos, only maybe size them for the net
I'll be looking forward to some awesome vacation
photos, for sure! And I'll bet you might even be able to find some local luthiers to spank you out a custom stringed instrument! The best to you and yours
in your travels!!

Jeff - have a great time. Hope you are able to relax and do some exploring. Who knows? Maybe you'll even find some guitars over there!!!

So what is the deal here in China? Hard to tell what with censored media and all. Is China asking for help from anyone to control these dams and unbury the
victims of the earthquake. Seems to me not. Too proud. But I'll tell ya one thing, if they don't ask, i.e. Army Corps of Engineers and others, they may
be in for a heap of criticism besides the obvious awful devastation to homes, land, and lives lost. Good lord this is a terrible situation.

A terrible situation indeed Jeff. Hope people are able to be rescued in time. What a horrible situation.

As the government here may or may not know what the hell to do for everyone in trouble I assume there will be a huge undersupply of monies needed to finish a job that will go on for years to give these folks relief and housing. They are VERY slow to react here, beauracracy, huh! Makes Washington look like angels. Please trust that I know these people are very poor in this country, some cannot eat and toilets/sanitation are awful everywhere. We live like kings and queens in the States! Let's chip in guys huh? The mostly low paid soldiers and government workers here are mostly giving $7 bucks American (100 RMB a.k.a. Chinese yuan. How about you? Dams
Anyone a Geologist or Geographer? Seems inordinate to me. Overkill? Lack of planning? Just a hunch. Not really any educated editorial here on my part. |
