I just wish they made the 6 string Atlas in something besides a 1 11/16 inch nut.

The guy at my local shop that I bought my breedlove from told me if I liked any of the new ones hed let me trade mine in for one for free, but I don't like
any of them more than my current. I wish they made a nice Cedar Rosewood model in the stage.

Looking forward to trying some of these out. The way I see it, they must be special for Breedlove to make such a change and go out on a limb as it were. Bet
they tested and refined the heck out of these guits.

Hey MacNichol,
That top pic of the (mahogany?) side and soundport. Is it the Black Magic? That looks like solid wood, not a laminate to me. Of course I know it's basically impossible to tell without seeing inside the guitar. Also, am I right about the mahogany? I really want to play one of these and see how much difference the soundport makes to the player. Looks very cool to me. PR "All Music is the Blues. All of it!" --- George Carlin |

PR,
The top pic is laminate mahogany, but from a different model. The bottom pic is the Black Magic dreadnought. |

Thanks for the picture of the soundport. I'd be a little apprehensive about doing it, but I wonder if they will, or can, do retro-fits on the soundports.
I've often been amazed at hearing other people play my guitars and wished that I could hear the same thing when I play them myself (could be the other
players...). Also, I'd be interested in knowing if there's a degradation in the sound from the main sound hole if there's a soundport.

Wilee wrote:Not according to McKnight Guitars: Blindfold tests prove that there is absolutely no loss of energy with a sound port. In fact, the results are quite the opposite. There is a discernable gain in sound hole projection, as well as a 360 degree sound gain around the player. For more information on soundports: McKnight Guitars Soundports |

Thanks. A 360 degree sound gain would be great! Time to dust off the Dremel.

Many of the solo luthiers are now offering soundports as options in their high-end guitars. Nearly every review I've read about soundports has been
positive. Mostly, it seems to provide a better experience for the player (soundwise).
