Nice Guitar. Was it a Birthday Gift (see the sign over your head) or were you playing for Jacob's birthday (see sign to your right). Thanks for posting the pics. |

A few photos of my first open-mic experience, at a delightful little Irish pub in Houston called McGonigel's Mucky Duck. It has been honored as one of the
top 20 venues for acoustic music in the United States. The first photo is one of me doing a duet with a gentleman by the name of Craig Harrel, an incredible
autoharpist whom it is my pleasure to get to see every Monday night at the open-mic nights. He also won first place in the International AutoHarp Competition
at the Walnut Valley Festival this year. That autoharp he's playing is one of the prizes he won in that competition. We're doing "Berkeley
Woman" by John Denver:
The next two are just of me, performing "And I Love You So" (I always thought it was composed by Don McLean until I searched the web for the music, found out Perry Como wrote it, but I still like it and it is just one of those songs that FEELS GREAT to play) and "Temptation" by Tom Waitts--sorry, guys and gals, there's a reason I call myself "Dugly" .
All in all it was a pretty enjoyable experience, think I'll do it again soon..... . Hopefully, next time I'll be able to play the Breedlove and we can
capture it on video. We would have had it this time had I not purchased the wrong SD memory card for the camera, but now I know what we need to do for next
time so I can get the right one. Sure would like to be able to post sound clips of the Breedlove, it's got a great tone (sorta wish I had been able to
afford a pickup in it when I had it made, but they can mike it fairly well at the Mucky Duck--it just seems that instruments have much more clearly defined
tone when they are plugged into the PA system, like my Takamine 2005 Limited Edition I'm playing here).

I use to have long hair, too....before it all fell out . Now,
whenever I go a bit too long between haircuts, I get this incredible "Bozo the Clown" look.....

Ok so here's another shot of the Breedlove in action. I found the other pics looking for this one. Although there are no guitars involved I thought they
might intrest someone. The first is me with "Crazy Pete" the Prez of Breedlove and the last is my wife and I picking out the back wood for my C25.
The piece my hand is on is the one I choose. Pretty evil looking grin there eh? Heaven IS in Bend,Oregon!!
Nothing like a "White trash latte" to wake you up on a beautiful Oregon morning. Pete's concoction of Jim Beam..ice cream...chocolate
syrup....and.....for some reason I can't remember the rest.
Oh yea....a whole day with wood!!

Greg is grooving to the woodness. I don't think I've ever seen such a mischievous forum smile before.

Kinda looks like what his hands are on is not the only "wood" on his mind!
