Nice. I almost thought that was "the Boss"(O-man) at first!

Pics of Pickin' for the Record (my pre-Breedlove days) | #127 | ||
|
I was at Luckenbach, Texas on August 23, 2009 with 1,867 of my closest newest friends to help set a new
Guinness World Record for the Biggest Guitar Pickin' Session in Recorded History. My wife, sister, and nephew were all part of the group playing the
Luckenbach song (Basics of Love) and This Land is Your Land for more than 5 minutes each. It was a hoot! I can't begin to describe it. Pickers from all
over, from all walks. Lots of good folks swappin' stories, pickin', and sharing songs before and after the big event. We're already planning to go again if they try to set a new record next year! (San Francisco's trying to
break the record this October.)
(Proceeds supported the Welcome Home Project's Veteran's Endowment for Traumatic Brain Injuries and the Sound Healing Program that teaches vets how to play the guitar as a component of their TBI recovery.) I'm the guy with the guitar... in the white shirt... wearing a hat... the one with sunglasses on. Ag

I was able to pick you out of the crowd immediately with your description! <g>
That must have been a real wall of sound. What a group. Cool cause. "Down in Luckenbach, Texas, with Willie, Waylon and the boys" When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me." |

Neal,
I have to admit that in my younger years I thought of the Uke as more of a toy than an instrument. I couldn't have been more wrong and your video is another reason why I have changed my mind. That was cool. BTW---I also liked your vid (Whiskey Before Breakfast) with the teens Gibson A Mando...that was cool too. |

Ha! Another toy thinker! Hey, don't feel bad, I thought it was a toy once too. Thanks for the listen guys, I'll do a guitar thingamajig soon with that
new Breedlove, so you can hear how it sounds on those cheap video recorder mics....
Tele, thanks, and if one can lay claim to a 1-4-5, then yes, it's all mine. Fun and instructive little instruments. |
