Breedlove's working on some new mandolin bridges that will be made in house on the CNC machine. Here's a close up of part of a prototype.

Bridges have been outsourced, correct? In house should be better for quality control, and possibly price.

That is a really nice lookin bridge. Just that alone counts for something. That is a bridge I would love to see on Jen's mando.

I know there are a few companies that specialize in making parts that are used by numerous builders, & frequently they are top notch parts, and, as they do
a bulk business in the parts, they may be less expensive, but the idea of creating everything in house is esthetically appealing.

Slight hijack here, sorry. MacNichol, that is a really cool picture. I restrung and cleaned off my guitar yesterday and started snapping photos while it was
looking all sparkly and stuff, but I couldn't get any decent shots like this. I eventually just got frustrated and gave up. I also like playing it when
it has new strings and looks all sparkly, so I gave in to the temptation. How are you setting up for photos, and what kind of equipment are you using? If you
didn't take this picture, that's cool. Anyone with advice, I am all ears. I need to improve my photography skills.

PR, it's all about... | #6 | ||

...the lighting and lens. Don't be afraid to snap twenty or even fifty pics to get one good one. Photography is as much luck as it is art. And like
playing the guit the more you do it the better and easier it seems. Don't be afraid to experiment with aperatures and shutter speeds, it is just amazing
what it can do for you. Just my $.02 worth.

PR,
I find my indoor photography suffers cuz of lighting. Things turn out way better if I can take a picture outdoors. I just don't have the correct lighting and don't have the finesse enuff to filter the digital camera to get the picture that I want! (omg prepositional phrases.. ugh.. go away grammar poleeece!). I took a lot of pictures for the few you guys have seen. I'm getting better. I think FP got it when he said not to be afraid to take a lot of them to get a few you like. Hugs, Ratkity |

Thanks for the advice. I don't have enough time for all of my current hobbies. I really don't need to add another one, but it would be nice to take a
decent picture.
Back to the original post (not really), speaking of bridges, I have been spending a lot of time with this one. Mary_Flower_Bridges Where did I leave that lamp? PR "All Music is the Blues. All of it!" --- George Carlin |

New to me, PR. From the samples, she may be worth checking out.
