2002 SC25/E deep-bodied, concert sized guitar that is comfortable to play yet puts out volume and bass comparable to a much larger instrument. This guitar was hand built in the Breedlove shop in Oregon - and the attention to detail shows. Recently setup by the luthier at the Podium in Minneapolis. Perfect for fingerstyle (which is mostly what I play), yet no buzzing when strummed.
The body is made from striped Macassar ebony, which sounds similar to Brazilian rosewood and is absolutely gorgeous. Tightly grained sitka spruce soundboard with ebony pinless bridge, bone saddle, JLD truss system clear pickguard. Mahogany neck; dovetail joint; ebony fingerboard with small, offset position markers; striped ebony headstock overlay; gold Grover mini tuners with ebony buttons. Abalone rosette; abalone logo "B" on headstock; ivoroid binding on body and neck; herringbone purfling; gloss finish; clear pickguard. Preamp was upgraded to a Fishman Matrix Infinity with soundhole volume and tone controls (clearly superior to the Fishman Natural 1 preamp originally installed). Gold strap button and endpin jack. Breedlove luggage-style case. Currently strung with D'Addario EXP 16 lights.
I would conservatively rate this instrument 9.5 out of 10 - any imperfections you see in the photos are reflections (sorry for the poor photography). There are a few tiny pinpoint marks on the soundboard below the bridge, but they can only be seen upon close inspection in reflected light. No observable fret wear. From a non-smoking, non-pet home. Never gigged. Always kept in its case when not being played.
Will sell for $1999 plus shipping.
