Sorry it took so long to get back to this thread...
I used the narrow neck up since my Breed's are only about 2" deep at the sides (although they come with 2 or 3 different suction cup sizes). I liked it. It really helped me to hold the mando (more like classicial guitar with the neck high) which in-turn helped my left hand posture (no bend at the wrist). In the end, I did take it back to where I purchased it, but only because my mandos with their satin finish wouldn't keep suction and I am unwilling to modify them in any way that would change that. I also like the fact that it is not cumbersome like a typical strap when you play sitting down. I really don't think you would be dissapointed.
Yes, I have heard Mark play as he performs at a small restaraunt that my wife and I frequent on some Friday/Saturday nights--and yes, he is using one while playing.
