Now, on an acoustic guitar, I really don't like the cutaway look, but.... well, he does make sense.

I play with some friends on Thursday nights, y'know, have some beer, solve world problems, make music. I was playing my Breedlove in C tuning )CGCGCE) and
using a capo for the key of E and playing some fingerstyle up over the soundboard with an unwrapped thumb. The sax player stops me and says-" You know
Neal, they DO make cutaways for stuff like that".
Now, on an acoustic guitar, I really don't like the cutaway look, but.... well, he does make sense.

A sax player? Tell him to talk to the drummer ! <g>
So is the Bourgeois pictured your next acquisition? I agree with the cutaway on an acoustic. You never used to see them hardly at all, and then one day I woke up and every damn acoustic had a cutaway. If you want to fully exploit the fingerboard, it is a necessary evil. (kinda) I don't use much beyond the seventeenth fret and you can kinda reach it.......... When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me." |

Yes, my next one. I kind of like the Bourgeois cutaway, and I haven't heard it or played it, so lots of trust going into this one. I have played a few
Bourgeois in the past and felt they were of a superior quality if my memory serves. You may know this sax player, Mike Lawler, he's played a lot out your
way for years.
Lots of stuff gonna be going that I just don't play anymore. Can I advertise here as well as eBay, I'll check the rules. Yes, NotQuiteMonosyllabicMando, quite a dilemma.. |

Doh! When Tele said Lake County in another post, I thought he meant Lake Country, which is right next door to me. Lake County is still pretty close,
but a little farther south and east...
Thanks Fingerpicker. I should have it this week. I like that the cutaway offers access to 16, it's a pretty short cutaway. There was a Huss & Dalton 'burst I was eyeballin', beautiful guitar, but this one won me over with the minimal cut.

Nice! Congrats Neil. I'm sure you'll make it sound nice.
If you don't like it, I'd be happy to take it off your hands. Or, if you do like it, I'd be happy to take your Revival off your hands. I think either one would be happy here. |

Ok, SUBTLE cut! I'm laughing right now NotQuiteMonosyllabicMando .
And Wilee, no way is this Breedlove leaving. This is what got me started again! It'd be like selling my Favilla uke! Or my '37 Martin! No way. Keeper all the way...... .... well, 10K would get me to seriously think about it.... and the Favilla and the Martin... |

I have played a Bourgeois Dred a couple times, and I think they are great instruments. The one I played was in geat shape and really well made.
Congratulations Neal.

I have played a few Bourgeois guitars although not a huge number of them. I have thought they were very nice guitars and very well made. Good luck NealP.

Come to think about it I haven't seen many of them come us on the used market which would also speak well of the guitars besides them sounding good.
