This is a custom shop guitar that I received today. It was built for a customer of mine, so unfortunately I can't keep it!

Stunning.... have any of you electric players tried one of these? How do they play/sound?

Beautiful....I got to hold one and strum it unplugged on my last visit to Breedlove. You almost don't need an amp. I would love to plug one into my
Marshall and terrorize the neighborhood!! For an acoustic guitar builders first run at electrics I think they did it perfect. The one I "held" felt
well balanced with the kind of action you would expect from a quality builder. My hat's off to Breedlove. BTW...New pics of my studio/guitar room comming
soon. Been working hard on getting things finished. You all will be the first to see it.
Peace Greg

Ok...So it wasn't with a Mark I but I got a wireless system yesterday for my electric, took the Marshall outside, plugged it in and I rocked the neighbors.
I needed to see what the range of the wireless was......right? No cops came this time. We did have a visit from them Saturday at the wedding we played! They
were nice........I so want one of those Breedlove electrics...Hmmmm...maybe I can get an endorsement deal and then...............Whoa...Wake up Greg! It has
been a long day. Everyone have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ragtime - I just did a quick quote which isn't very obvious. Greg's the one with the wireless system. Maybe he'll answer that question!

Sorry it took me so long to reply on the wireless. I've had a short burst of work lately and haven't had much computer time. I own a finish trim
carpentry business and do new construction. As you all have probably read in the paper or heard on the news the construction world is not doing so good so I
need to pour myself into the work when it comes!.......Anyhow....My son gave me a GC gift card for Christmas so I purchased a Nady wireless. I went with the
$50 one. Just wanted to see what it's all about. Here's my short review.
Nady DKW-1 GT Lots of letters and numbers for a small simple system. As soon as I read the instructions and hooked it up I was not impressed. I had instant noise. I thought maybe it was some type of interference from the fluorescence lights so I took it outside. Same thing. The thing has good range. I walked 60-70 feet away and still had great reception but the hiss was still there. Also certain ways I turned there was a noise like I had unplugged the guitar. Not good for a live show! Nady recommends I put 220pF caps on the volume and tone pots on my guitar.......I know it's a cheap intro system but I don't think I should have to tear my guitar apart to fix their noise problem. One of the first things I plan on trying is changing the 1/4" male plug to a good one. The one that came with it is really cheap and the ground tip seems loose. There's a capacitor in the plug and and I think a larger one might help with the noise. Also..the cable that goes from the receiver to the amp needs to be better. I'll try a good stomp box patch cable. I'll let you all know if these things make me like it any better or if I should of just bought a bunch of strings with my gift card! Greg |

Thanks Greg. I have been wondering where you have been. Now I know work just got in the way. Strange how that seems to be the same for me some time.
I really don't know anything about the electric side of using an acoustic with pickups. I have some guitars that just came that way like my Breedlove and my Taylor but I don't own an amp or a PA system yet. I am thinking about a PA system and I like the idea of not having to have a cord from the guitar so when you wrote about going wireless I thought I would check. Let us know if what you are trying helps. I still plan to work toward getting a PA system as I would like to get the point where I am set up to do a few gigs. ragtime man |
