Parlor Posts: 4 March 19, 2008 12:56:11	Tags : None i recently purchased the Atlas AC25 SR Plus. after having it shipped to me, i have been playing with for about a week. what a beautiful instrument. however, the action seems pretty high to me. how should i adjust? i read about the truss rod adjustment and messed around a little with that. however, not sure that is the best approach. is there an adjustment i could do? otherwise, i may just take it to a local shop for them to do a setup. any advice would be appreciated. thanks..

Parlor Posts: 64 March 20, 2008 12:38:38 Dealer	How much of a turn have you done with the truss rod so far? 1/4 turn? 1/8 turn? If you still wish to get the action lower, then take out the bridge saddleand use light sandpaper to shave off the bottom of the saddle to achievethe desired action.

Parlor Posts: 4 April 8, 2008 22:19:13	thanks for the advice. i took the guitar to a local, reputable shop and had them do a setup. they sanded down the saddle as you suggested. did not seem to make much difference, though. seems strange to me. the action on the low frets is pretty good. however, the higher frets, specifically around the 9th fret, the action is pretty high. i am by no means a guitar tech. but, confusing, nonetheless. i had played the same model at another store and the action was much better. so, i am at a loss. think i may take it back in to the shop that did the setup for me to discuss further. any advice is appreciated. thanks, rick..

The action is not adjusted by the truss rod, although truss rod adjustments may affect the action. After the proper neck angle is established (via the truss rod), then the action can be lowered by sanding the saddle.
